My G35 2003 get about 17 MPG combined
The government sites say i should be getting 19 City and 24 Highway.
Any ideas why my MPG is low

04 G35 Sedan. From 17.5 to 20.0 mpg, depending on the city/hwy mix: from 80% city/hwy to 20% city/hwy, for mpg cited.

Have been tracking the fuel mileage for about 16 months, about 16K mi.
I drive mostly streets and found that I get about 19 mpg city/28 highway, which is better than advertised. So I am happy with these results.
I have used both premium and regular with no difference in fuel mileage. With that said, I do get more performance with premium fuel with no doubt. Since I drive mostly street, I use regular to save money and drive with a light foot.
I have noticed that GM and Hyundai recommend their fuel cleaners that contain "Techroline". (Even the packaging looks like Chevron's) So I started to use Chevron fuel (regular) just recently since its already in their fuel, and its only about 6-10 cents higher than the Costco fuel I normally use.
Too early to tell if there is any difference in fuel mileage, but it seems to have a higher octane rating since I use to hear slight knocking with the Costco fuel during harder accelerations. Will report back after more data is accumulated.
