Speedy response restores service on Colonial Pipelines' Nashville-to-Atlanta lines

GasBuddy Blog -- The last thing consumers want to hear about these days is refinery or pipeline problems like those that have plagued California motorists in recent weeks...

Good. Pipelines are much safer then transporting oil by ship.

combination of pro-active & re-active approach... at least there was a plan in place in the event something did go wrong.

need to be more pro-active by routinely inspecting pipelines

Well this may sound good, but the loss and the damage is still rediculous. We are well technologically advanced that a spill of 500 gallons and several hours gone undetected is rediculous! It is very possible to be prepared in advance for troubles like this and shut down operations so quickly that there is almost no loss.

What hinders such solutions from being put into use and practiced? Well here is the greatest and most obvious answer and solution. Instead of making it top priority to divert funds first to the choicest greedy hogs (favored stock holders) profits should first be considered for use to implement such technology and operational solutions. If you don't have engineers with that company that can figure it out; then ask me and pay me for it!

Good to see the speedy response. It seems any glitch in the system results in jumping prices. It appears that didn't happen here.
