With the way people are so careless these days one cannot afford to depend on gadgets, mirrors and such. As a driver youhave to take every precaution to avoid a serious accident.

If he isn't there, I get out of the truck, estimate distance to hitch, get back in and do the Hokey Pokey for a while until I can put the trailer on the truck ball. If'n I'm just parking, I use the rear views.

I know this sounds silly, but you'd be amazed at how many don't really use these (at least the side views) or any of them while they're driving forward! I do like the obstacle warning sensors for little children who just might get behind your vehicle...however, I just make sure there are no children, etc around when I do back up.

It would be great if the sensor's distance would be adjustable to beep from 3"-12" distance; great use for very tight parking spaces.

Did you know that there's a vehicle manufacturer that is trying to replace it's side mirrors with cameras? The displays will be on the dash, so the driver doesn't have actually turn his/her head. Not that you or I wrench our necks to see what's behind/beside us anyway. Just thought I'd share that with you.

I wonder "if and when" the use of cameras will be allowed for this?

Same when backing a trailer in somewhere.

The best way to drive a car is to always WATCH where you are going.
