Chicago mission to highlight global importance of Alberta's energy resources

Government of Alberta -- Premier to champion oil sands in U.S. Midwest
Edmonton... Premier Alison Redford will focus on Alberta’s energy relationship with the U.S. when she meets with key decision makers and media February 25 to 29 in Chicago, Illinois.

“It is critical that Alberta broadens our outreach efforts and optimizes our effectiveness in the U.S.,” said Premier Redford. “We need to be more coordinated and strategic in how we approach our efforts in the U.S. and it is critical that we ensure our American friends understand who we are as a people and how important our relationship is.”

Redford will meet with a diverse set of stakeholders while in Chicago, including leading Illinois executives when she speaks at the prestigious Executives’ Club of Chicago. The Premier will also have meetings with the Chicag

Your ignorance is most laughable. No land was taken nor bought. TransCanada offers a landowner a fair market value to lease the easement for the pipeline (ROW) to pass through. The landowner will receive an annual lease fee as long as the pipeline is buried there. If the landowner does not agree with the lease rate offered, then eminent domain is exercised and the amount will be decide in court. This is to prevent gold diggers from holding up projects to extort more money from the pipeline companies. Please do some homework before you open your big mouth. It really stinks!

Why not strengthen that relationship and wean our unfriendly oil suppliers from the revenue they get from us to use against us.
